Avatar not showing publically (in blog search directories)

Avatar not showing in public blog lists. Not showing in profile either. It DOES show when I click “change avatar”. It’s been about 15 hours. Patience or solution?

I see both of your avatars, but of course have no way of knowing if these are your new ones or your old ones.
Many public blog lists will only show avatars you upload directly to them, such as MyBlogLog. And even if they auto-update, they usually don’t do that until after you’ve posted something new.

I uploaded my avatar pic and it shows under my “general” blog settings. It does not show on public tag/category lists. Rather, my avatar pic is the auto-generated geometric designs. Cleaned out cache, rebooted, re-loaded pic and it still does not work although the correct pic shows under my “general” blog settings.

Can you give us a link to your blog and some idea how long ago you did this? It can take up to a full day to load. Also: gravatar, or avatar?

I uploaded the image on March 10th 2009 and I have made new posts since that time as well. Blog: http://namaha.wordpress.com/. The image shows up under my “general” blog settings and even my favicon is showing the uploaded pic. Instead of saying “gravatar” or “avatar”, it is uploaded as a “blog picture”, which is supposed to be used across WordPress. Thank you, RainCoaster.

“Blog picture” is the favicon that appears to the left of your blog URL (and in tabs) in your browser. It is not the same as the avatar or gravatar, which must be uploaded separately under users > your profile. I suspect is was done separately so that people could have a different images for the avatar/gravatar and the blog picture (blavatar/favicon).
