avatar won’t show

i need help i uploaded an avatar it showed at first but now it won’t show and i am logged in?
help plz -

I keep re-uploading mine and it keeps disappearing again! Whenever I go to my dashboard it keeps asking me to upload an avatar. I do, it shows up for about 3 posts, and then disappears again.

My avatar isnt showing as well. I can see it in my profile when I am logged in but when i post comments elsewhere, it just shows an empty square box. Pls help.

Avatars take some time to make it through the system after you first upload one or after you change. Also note that it is not retroactive. In other words, any comment you made before you first uploaded an avatar, will not display the avatar.

Actually, I can see on my blog that it DOES retroactively change. I don’t know if it does on other people’s blogs’ comments sections, though. It probably just takes awhile.

Or perhaps, i need to be logged into my blog while I comment on other blogs. At the moment, I enter comments straight into others blog when I am not logged into mine and manualy enters my website details.

I’m also having this problem and have for some time. While the avatar has never disappeared from the profile, it has on comments. Initially, it was there. A few weeks ago, it disappeared. I just tried
putting a random comment in and it appeared, but when I attempted to reenter and reedit a comment from a viewer, it did not appear again. http://theerrantaesthete.com/2008/01/17/johnny-depp-sings/ -
I uploaded an avatar several days ago and it hasn’t shown up yet. Thanks for the notes. I’ll be patient.

I think it’s related to the header issue that some have reported and the images on blogs issue as well. All images seem to be affected.

I’ve had my avatar in my blog for six months and then poof, it disappeared Tuesday evening.

It looks like I have the same problem, the dashboard keeps nagging me that I can upload an avatar, but I have one, or just uploaded a new one. Does it do that with you too? Will my avatar show? (Should be a green cat eye.)

I wonder if it has something to do with the increased storage space somehow? I hope the squish the bug soon. (And glad so far it’s just been my avatar, for all that!)

cparente, do you mean a custom header? I’ll dig up the FAQs about them for you, in case that is what you mean. Note, that with each blog theme that allows custom headers, the size of the header varies, it is *NOT* uniform at all, so look at the size requirement for each blog theme before making a custom header for it. I found this out the hard way myself.
