Avatars and the Digg 3 Column Theme
-
Is anyone using the Digg 3 Column theme (by Small Potato) and able to use the default avatars for the comments? I have recently swapped from another theme where the avatars were showing but now they have gone! Any hints would be good ;-)

Check in your dashboard under settings > reading at the bottom of the page. There are a bunch of recently added settings there for avatars.
-
Yeah all those settings are as they were for the previous theme, still no show though :-/

Digg 3 simply doesn’t display commenters’ avatars. If you temporarily switch to another theme that does (e.g. Chaotic Soul), you can confirm that your settings are ok.
Another problem I’m aware of in Digg 3 is its page tabs. If they are more than will fit in one row, the second row gets hidden behind the header image.

That is a bit annoying, was hoping for a clean three columned theme that allows you to set the header image. Will have to think whether or not the avatars are that important :-/ Thought that WordPress would have opened up more themes by now though…..

The only 3-column themes that display avatars are Andreas 04, Fadtastic & Twenty-eight Thirteen – none of them with customizable header image.
The wordpress.com themes are a bitter story, I think; in contrast, check this example for the rich diversity you can have in Blogspot (for free):

The Digg 3 theme doesn’t display avatars in the comment section but you
can you the recent comment widget that will display the avatars… -
Ah, good point, teck07 (if not perfectly phrased)! Same goes for Andreas 09 and Garland (in which you can’t change the header image but at least you can change the colors).

Typo correction,
The Digg 3 theme doesn’t display avatars in the comment section but you
can you add the recent comment widget which will display the avatars for your readers…Teck
