Avatars for commenters

  Greetings, I was wondering if anyone knows to to create avatars for regular commenters on blogs. In my case, few are computer-savvy enough to go through the motions of creating a Gravatar (and none have blogs on WordPress.com), so it would be easiest for me to have something on my end. If that’s possible.

  There is no need for them to sign up for an account here at wordpress.COM. They can sign up for gravatars (avatars) at http://gravatars.com/ . The process is quite painless (all they need to do is enter their email address, click on the link in the email confirmation they will get. Once they confirm, then they can easily upload an image to use for their gravatar. Then anywhere gravatars are enabled when they comment with the email address they used to sign up for the gravatar account, their gravatar will show up with their comment.

  If you choose a Discussions setting that choses Monsters or the geometric style of avatar, it is unique to that commenter and they don’t have to create anything. As long as they sign in with the same email making the comment, that avatar will show up.
