Average post speed

    I’ve searched the archives and there were a few topics on this but I didn’t understand exactly. When I was updating posts to add a new tag yesterday to my themes blog I noticed that posts were taking a long time. I timed 23 of them and I took the average which was 19 seconds. The fastest was 11 seconds and slowest was 24 seconds. Is this normal? How is your speed? I wish it was faster. Are there any tricks to make posting faster? Thanks.

    My speed is ALWAYS slower than that, probably because of my computer. The speed does vary across time for all WP.com blogs, I would assume because of varying loads on the server or Internet traffic.

    Have you tried the Google Gears thing? There are some threads about it in the forum; it’s said to substantially increase the speed of EVERYTHING on your Dashboard.

    Did you select your pages to be secure with httpS:// ? That slowed my speed time a lot. If you want to take it off, check off the option and then clear cookies and history and cache. And then log in again.
