Avid widgets
-
my widgets are not showing up . . . where are they supposed to show up? how can I get them to appear?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All widgets are selected, configured and activated here > Settings > Widgets
After you change a theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

I did :(. They are sitting there waiting to appear. Just as an experiment I dragged different widgets to all 3 footers (middle, right and left) and the sidebar . . . but nothing is appearing. The only widgets I would like to use are categories, archives, follow . . .

Also I do not see Settings > Widgets, just Appearance > Widgets. Thank you again for your help.

That theme does not appear to have a widget area at all http://theme.wordpress.com/credits/burgerbird.wordpress.com/

@timethief @raincoaster I found my widgets! They’re at the bottom of my pages only. I guess I can dig that.

That’s good news. I forgot to tell you above that widgets have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility
