AVIF to WEBP conversion plugin

    Hi, we have issues with google not indexing our images. Initially we decided to use AVIF images and all the photos we had uploded are in this format. The sad thing is that google do not index these at all. When i search google images only a few of our photos are there. All of them are format different than AVIF.

    All our images have ALT texts, file names related to our products. I really do not want to reupload them all. Is there some plugin that can convert the AVIF files to WEBP directly in our media library and keep file names and ALT texts and database releations to the image files?

    We can’t help as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform, nor can we help with searh engines issues. Some Googling told me, I quote:”Yes, Google indexes AVIF files. AVIF is now a supported file type in Google Search, both for Google Images and anywhere that uses images in Google Search. Google automatically indexes AVIF images on websites.” You must contact Google support to know what’s going on.
