Avoid the new editor
-
An hour’s worth of work yesterday has completely vanished, despite multiple savings. Even the media I uploaded for it is gone. WP has no response. If the new editor is going to be obligatory any time soon, I will switch platforms now.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you please let me know the title of the post you were working as well as which interface you are using? The classic dashboard (https://notespinning.wordpress.com/wp-admin/) or the new one (https://wordpress.com/)?
-
New. Which apparently turned my draft post in to a new page. I KNOW it was originally a draft post, because when I went in Sunday evening to keep work in it, it was clearly showing up in Draft Posts. Switching to new editor seems to have changed it to a page.

@omniverouslistener that’s really odd. Can you send the title of the post?
Also, are you able to do the same thing again (start a draft in posts and convert to a page with whatever steps you took before)? If so can you send those steps? Folks have asked for features to convert posts to pages and vice versa, so I’d be curious to see how this is happening and also help you undo it if possible.

Noting as well, we have classic and new versions of wordpress.com/post as well as wp-admin’s editor.
Right now we’re assuming you’re using wordpress.com/post with the new editor. Is that correct?

Hi all,
I don’t believed I’ve encountered a new post version, that I’m aware of. As I mentioned, I did attempt to switch to the new editor when revisiting the draft post on Sunday night, which is where it seems the switch occurred.
The original draft-now-page is here: https://wordpress.com/page/notespinning.wordpress.com/113
I am rebuilding the post here: https://wordpress.com/post/notespinning.wordpress.com/126
It’s occurring to me that with Pages and Posts listed directly under each other in the dashboard, I possibly may have clicked on Pages by mistake initially.

Thank you, if I understand then, you had the draft started in the classic editor, then when you made a switch everything disappeared.
Did you intentionally copy everything to the second post you listed, and how did you go about that? I noticed it was first published some time ago, so I’m trying to understand what’s happened here.
