“awaiting moderation” no longer showing after commenting

  Just noticed this today… after commenting on someone else’s blog entry, my comment did not show up with an “awaiting moderation” message the way it used to. Nothing shows up.

  Now I have no way of knowing if my comment ever got through and is awaiting moderation. What is going on?

  Maybe it got sent to spam. Try commenting on your own blog and see if you get sent to spam or what happens.

  On some blogs, the Awaiting Moderation doesn’t always show up. Or as Raincoaster said, it may of been sent into spam. It could also be a glitch on WordPress’s side!

  Thanks raincoaster and chewybeta! One more thing…

  The person just e-mailed me telling me that my comment got sent to her WordPress spam folder. What I found particularly interesting was that I had tried posting the comment again (before finding out about all this) and got this WordPress message, “Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!”

  Is there a way for the other person to prevent any of my comments from being treated as spam? Such as Dashboard > User > Authors & Users, and adding my name to the list of users as a contributor?

  Or something like that?

  I just contacted akismet, thanks! No problem about spelling! :)

  I’ll leave this topic as unresolved a little longer to see if anyone has further insight into this!

  There is no way to prevent it; every time Akismet gets spam-bombed it tightens up and some legitimate comments get sent to spam. But you can email the admins of the blog that ate your comment and ask them to fish it out of spam. If they do a search for your username they should be able to find it without too much trouble.

  The admin of the blog fished it out of spam yesterday.
