What happens to my WordPress site after my death?

What happens to anyone’s Interweb presence after their death? Now’s the time to write stuff down so family can access bank accounts, utility bills and all the other stuff that’s moved from paper to online.
If you have an upgraded plan you’ll have to make sure your will contains all the information for someone else to continue to be able to access it and make payments etc to keep the site online (or to transfer it to another account).
One benefit of having a WordPress.com site on a free plan is that those issues wouldn’t arise.
However the future, by definition, is unknown. How long will WordPress.com continue to leave old free inactive sites online? Another ten years? A hundred? Until the seas rise and the electricity runs out? Or just until the Aliens invade next year? And for how many years into the future will the Search engines continue to index dormant sites?
