back-up
-
We recently moved our website from WordPress.com to Squarespace.com but realized after the fact that our website manager didn’t create a back-up of all of our WordPress.com pages first. Now that we are disconnected from the domain, we can’t figure out a way to export them. We tried clicking ‘Export’ in ‘Tools’ but it takes us to a 404 page on our new Squarespace site (since that’s where the domain is now directed.) What is the best way to get the content from our WordPress.com pages which are now disconnected from our domain? Thank you!
WP.com: Yes

Based on your description alone, it sounds like your webpress.com website is still having the custom domain as the primary domain. Could you try switching the primary domain to your webpress.com site address and then try exporting?

We were never able to change the domain and now it is showing as a hidden site and I can’t see the pages of the old site anymore. Help!
