    Hallo; I do not use my blog anymore, but want to keep a copy, for reference. Therefore back up once. Do you have recommendations? Do I still need to keep the site registered?

    Hi there,

    You can export the content of a WordPress.com site via My Site ->Settings. This gives a machine-readable .xml file containing all your posts, pages, comments, and links to where your media files are hosted in the media library.

    We do not provide full-site backups that can be run locally on a virtual server on WordPress.com.

    Export Your Website’s Content

    If you don’t use your site any more, but still want to keep the content, I suggest just setting the site to private instead. That way only you will have access to it. That option can also be found under My Site ->Settings.
