Backdate Order
-
Hi
For one of my posts on my site The 90s Are All That. I notice that the backdates are not in order
For example for that particular post 90s Legends are shown first. But the date was published last. The other posts were published before then
Like I know it was published a while back, but I’m saying shouldn’t the most recent date be shown first
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
Are you asking for help with https://ibstayfly.wordpress.com/ or a different site? There aren’t any posts on that one.
-
Yes ibstayfly.wordpress.com I’m talking about the posts. I have categories
I’m talking about the 90s are all that posts
-
Can you please give a link to the exact page on your site where you’re seeing this?
If I view your posts page at https://ibstayfly.wordpress.com/blog/, the first post I see is “Hello 2019”, published on 1 January, and that is the most recent post on your site.
If you’re speaking about the Category page at https://ibstayfly.wordpress.com/category/the-90s-are-all-that/, the post “90s Legends” is the most recent post published in that category.
You have only five posts in that category, published between 5 and 10 December 2016: https://ibstayfly.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?category_name=the-90s-are-all-that

It is. 90s Legends is dated 10th December. All the posts below it have earlier dates.
Reverse chronological order/newest date at the top is the default setting for posts. This is done because if your site had hundreds of posts placed there over a number of years visitors would want to see the newest first rather than having to scroll endlessly past posts they had already seen to find new content. -
Oh ok
But I thought that the older posts would be shown first because it was published first
-
Hi there,
As @themagicrobot referenced, the newest post is shown first by default.
However, do you want them in chronological order so that the oldest post is shown first? If so, you can follow the instructions on our support page:
