Backdated posts and followers' emails

    Hi there

    I would like to add a number of backdated posts to my blog (an archive from another site), but ideally don’t want my blog followers to receive emails about them. Is there a way of adding posts to the blog without followers being notified? For example, could I add the backdated posts as private posts and then switch them to public at a later stage? Or does anyone have another other workarounds?

    Another commenter suggested publishing the post as private. After its published, you can set it to public. When it is set to private, it will not notify anyone.

    That has sometimes worked and other times it has not worked and I’m not clear on why.
