backend Permalink not in settings

    I wish I could post a picture of this, but I am not seeing in the backend Permalinks.

    The options I have to choose from are:

    General
    Writing
    Reading
    Discussion
    Media
    Sharing
    Polls
    Ratings
    Adcontrol
    Email Post Changes
    Webhooks

    Just wanting to have shorter links without the dates in them. Thank you!

    You’re describing the dashboard found at WordPress.com sites. Here you’d need to upgrade to the Business plan to be able to remove the date from Permalinks. I guess you’ve been looking at information that only applies to sites hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software.
