  I can’t seem to change my background image/colour anywhere?

  What is your theme?

  You’d need to use a theme that supports custom backgrounds, though different themes support that feature in different ways. Please read this link to add a custom background:

  I don’t seem to have these options,is it because mine is the free plan?

  Hi ashagill.

  No it works for free plans too. What is your site address? There many free themes with options to change the background with a color or adding a image background. https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/custom-background is the link for all themes with background. Narrow your search to free and the list will only show you the free themes.

  To do this you’ll need to go to Customize.
