Background color

I would like to change the background color of my site while leaving the content area white. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Alternatively, I would like to color the first half of the front page background, have some kind of line, and then fade to white on the bottom portion of the page (see http://www.faithandreason.com) for an example.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

You can use the Custom Design features included in WordPress.com Premium to change your site’s background color. This is part of the Custom Colors, which you can access by going to Appearance > Customize in your dashboard.

In the customizer, select the Colors section to get your color options. If you click on the top left color circle, you can select the background color for your site. This won’t change the color of the content area.

If you’d like to make more advanced changes to your site’s design, you can do that with custom CSS. We have more information and tips for getting started with CSS at these links:

If you have CSS questions, most of our CSS support is done in our community forums by both staff and volunteers:

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
