Background Color does not save
-
Hello!
I am developing my WordPress site using the Lodestar theme, but the theme’s background colour changes do not get saved.
I wish to change the background colour in order to make the text on the background image readable.
Thus, alternatively, I could use some help on changing the font colour on my site.Check this out for reference -> https://darshkhetandk.wordpress.com/overview/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi darshkhetan,
Is darshkhetan.wordpress.com the site you are working on?
If so, I tested the background colour in My Sites > Customise > Colours and Backgrounds and was able to choose and save something different. Please try changing the colour again and clearing your browser cache:
Does that help?

Oh, I apologize for the typing error. The website in question here was darshkhetandk.wordpress.com
Kindly look into this one, and I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused due to my error.

Good morning –
Have you tried clearing your browser cache already?
Here’s how you do that:
You could also try to use a different browser temporarily and see if the color saves.

Hello,
A very good morning to you too.Following your reply to my query, I cleared my browser’s cache memory as you directed through the link given above, but sadly, the issue still persists, i.e., a change in background color of the theme does not save and always reverts back to the default theme color on revisiting the site.

Hi there,
I wish to change the background colour in order to make the text on the background image readable.
You can’t have both a background colour and a background image. You can only have one or the other, so to have a solid colour as your site background, you’ll need to remove that image.
Do you mean you want to set a background box for the content on single posts like https://darshkhetan.wordpress.com/2017/05/20/the-misunderstood/, similarly to the orange box that appears on the front page previews when you hover your mouse over them?
For that you would need to use custom CSS to modify your theme – the theme doesn’t have a setting to set a separate background colour for the content area only. Using custom CSS is only possible on our Premium and Business Plans.

Hello,
To be specific, I am only trying to edit the color underlying my background image, which, I suppose needs no upgradation.
The website I speak of her is darshkhetandk.wordpress.com
For ease of understanding of the issue, I am attaching a link to the screen recording of my steps. Kindly take a look at the video to get a clear picture of what I mean. -
Ah, I got it. I’ve done some testing on our end and I’m getting similar results. We’ll update you soon with a course of action.

Also, I wanted to note, the background color *is* saving, though you can’t see it because your image is in the way. Sorry we got thrown off by that.
The problem is that the text color we suggest based on the background color, is not saving. It’s staying the same no matter what background color you choose.

Okay, I’ve reported the issue.
For now, if it would work on your site, I’d recommend selecting “Palette” instead, and picking the the the first option. We’ll update you when we’ve got more information. Cheers!
