I would like to know how to place a background color for a single page.

You can use .page selector. Example:
.page #content{ background-color: #eaeaea; }If you want to make individual style of each page you can use .page-id-xxxx. You can see the specific class name via web inspector in the body class. Example:
.page-id-1492 #content{ background-color: #eaeaea; }It will change background color of this page https://hydralift.wordpress.com/motorhome-lift-2/

Why custom design works in http://www.getabusiness.worpress.com and doesn’t, with the same theme in http://www.theworldcollection.wordpress.com?
I want to change the color of background and fonts. After design / save , no any changes, why? -
