background color of primary menu in Spun theme

    When I change the background color in the Spun theme, the rectangular area around the text in each of the Primary Menu items remains white. What CSS change/override can I write so the background color of the menu is the same as the background color of the page or post? Thanks!

    Hi, I’ve checked the site you linked to and tested changing background colours with Spun on my own demo site and it seems to work just fine, the main navigation menu background ends up the same colour as the rest.

    Can you try refreshing/reloading the page in your browser, sometimes it caches the old CSS file and doesn’t show you the updates until you force it to check for changes.

    If that doesn’t work can you link to a page on your site that demonstrates the issue, a screenshot would help as well.

    Thank you so much for your prompt reply.

    I have to apologize, because I didn’t understand that the forum would automatically name one of my sites, and it named the wrong one.

    The site with the problem is
    http://teamwonderreel.club
    not the “wonderreelpreview” site (just in case that name gets added once again).

    The background is a gold-orange color but when I load the site, there’s a white rectangle around the word “HOME” (which is the only item on the menu)

    When I reduce the size of the browser window and the items on the menu disappear, to be replaced by the word “MENU”, there is no white rectangle.

    PS, I just added a second menu item “SAMPLE PAGE” so the issue would be more evident.

    That’s not a site hosted here at WordPress.com, you probably have a self hosted installation of the WordPress.org software (there are a few important differences). They also have their own support forums for next time.

    The CSS code you need to fix the issue is:

  background: transparent;
}

    By the way, I came here because Spun is a wordpress.com theme, unavailable through wordpress.org,. I got it here in the first place for another, coordinated site, and I needed to know where the issue was within the theme, not in my hosting situation. But I will try the wordpress.org support forums in the future.
