  Is there any option for editting the background colors of a page or post? Can i insert background picture for the page or post? If yes, Please let me know how to do it

  To edit the background colors of a page to a custom color, or to add a background picture, you’ll need to upgrade to a Premium or Business plan for advanced design customization. (https://wordpress.com/pricing/)

  The other thing you can do is change the theme of your blog to one of the themes that WordPress.com offers for free that offers the colors you’re looking for. There are lots of great choices to choose from, so I recommend looking here to see if something better fits your vision for your site.

  custom backgrounds and custom colors.

  Hi folks, while you can edit the background colors for the site in the customizer, @spunkyadventuress is correct in that you would need CSS (in the Premium or Business plan) to edit the background for an individual post or page.
