Background colour

    Hi. I wonder if anyone could help. I have a couple of questions. I’ve tried to add a background colour on my blog site, but it only appears to show at the very top in the web search bar above the page on view. I use the penscratch theme. Any suggestions? My second question is. When I eventually succeed, will the text automatically convert to white on colour, or is that something I adjust myself? Thanks so much. Any tips very much appreciated.
