background colour different on different computers with same browser
-
Hi, I have set the page background to white in my blog but when it shows up on some different computers with the same internet browser the page background goes grey. Does anyone know how to fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All computers and monitors can display colors differently. If one is significantly different, the videocard and/or monitor may need to be calibrated.

thanks for the quick response. i heard that it might also be something to do with the browser settings. do you think that’s also a potential reason. i looked at the settings but couldn’t see anything obvious to change. note that the picture that is inserted as the heading still shows as white but the rest is grey.

Possibly, but they would have to be set away from default. I know in Mozilla browsers and Opera you can set the background, fonts and other aspects.
Point is, that it’s not something in wordpress.com

I have a self-hosted site with a Twenty Twelve Theme as well as a wordpress.com site with Twenty Twelve, and I have come to this forum to try to learn what WordPress Theme might work best with all browsers at my wordpress.com site where I cannot run a Child Theme. This might or might not apply in your own situation, but Twenty Twelve is a “mobile-first” Theme and I have had to put a lot of effort into getting it to display fairly-well in IE8. So, maybe do some investigation and be sure you are using a Theme that actually can do well in the browsers being used at your site.

These are the browser versions that are relevant > http://browsehappy.com
Note that IE8 will soon become history in the sense that though it is supported now it won’t be for much longer.
