Background Colour Issue

    Hi there,

    I have been trying to change the background to white for a couple of pages on my website which uses the Obsidian theme and have successfully found the code to do so in CSS, however when I use the code (for one particular example page)

    body.page-id-178 .obsidian-background-overlay {
    background:#FFFFFF;
    }

    the background comes up as grey rather than white? Any reason why this might be happening or is the code I am using incorrect?

  • Hi there,

    It appears that your CSS code should work the way it is written.

    Because I am a volunteer on this forum, and I don’t have access to adding your paid theme to my site to test this out, I’m not able to give you the correct answer from trial and error, however, I have read through the overview of your theme. And I see that there is an option to adjust the color opacity

    “Adjusting the color opacity of your background allows you to control contrast and optimize the legibility of your content.”

    I’m wondering if this needs to be adjusted to make your white background pure white rather than with a hue of grey.

    Please let me know if this helps

    Great shout thanks that did the trick! It wasn’t actually the opacity I changed it was the underlying colour choice in the options for the background image.
    I also realised you may not have been able to see the site at all as I currently have it set to private due to it being under construction – but your solution worked!

  • Fantastic :) glad to hear you figured it out!
