Background colour of Pages content area is different from rest of site
-
When I go to one of the pages on my site after clicking the More link, the main content area now has a pale blue background and the text is an inaccessibly light grey. I can’t see anywhere in the colours or themes where I’m supposed to change this – it seems like a bug, to be honest.
Can anyone advise how to change the colour so it matches the rest of the site? Or at least, what the CSS might be if I have to upgrade the site so I can fix it? Many thanks in advance!

On my site’s home page, the text immediately below the heading “Poems” cannot be updated no matter what I change. I can’t change the size or weight, and I can’t stop it from being in italics.
The font size works in the preview, just not once published.

Hi! This is an older theme, so it might not fully cooperate with block settings, especially on the front page that’s designed to always display text a certain way.
We could help with CSS for font sizes and stuff, no problem.

Thank you? If I could just change that font size; and change the content area colours, that’s literally all I need. Is that easy to do?
Or do you think it’s worth upgrading to a newer theme?
-
Yes, that is very easy: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-design/custom-colors/ and https://wordpress.com/support/custom-fonts/

I only want to change the font weight and size on that one page – not throughout the site. It displays fine everywhere else, just not this one page. It’s not responding when I change the size of the text in the block, hence my request.
And similarly the background colour of the panel in the content pages is not one of the selectable colour options. I can change it by picking one of the preselected themes, but none of those has the right colour. The background colour for this theme is the colour outside the content area; all I can change then are links and accent colours, not the page background.
Is it possible to change these things with custom CSS, please? Or should I just switch themes to something more modern?

For changing it just on a specific page, are you doing that through the Paragraph block? https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/paragraph-block/#block-settings
-
Yes, but changing the block makes no difference. As Supernovia says earlier in the thread, this is an old theme and doesn’t necessarily respond in the expected way. I’ve tried all the legit means of changing the font size, colour and weight and it always come out in a large, white, italic font. In the end I just deleted the text because I’m not really getting anywhere with this. It’s a shame when you take out a premium plan and you end up with a dud theme and help that only echoes what I did in the first 30 seconds of realising there was an issue.

Hi, to change the font on the post you mentioned earlier, try using this code:
.post-158 .entry-content { font-size: 120%; font-weight: bold; }You can play with the font-size percentage, remove the
font-weightentirely or make it even bolder replacingboldwithbolder. You can also change the color of the text. If you need more help, please reach us directly from https://wordpress.com/help/contact. With your plan, you can access personalized and faster support from there.
