Background image

  I am a keen amateur but not very techy. I am using the iTheme2 theme for my blog and am having trouble displaying my background image. I edit my photographs using Elements 11 and, ideally, I guess I should use an image “Saved for web”. If I do this the image sky rockets off the screen. If I save the image with the same dimensions as a normal jpeg it fits perfectly. What am I doing wrong?
