  How can I set a background image? I looked online and tried the Appearances –> Customize which said there should then be a ‘Background Image’ option to select, but this does not show up. Any suggestions?

  Hi there,

  Not all themes support the backrgound image feature, and the Zoologist theme you’re using at the moment doesn’t.

  To add a custom background in a block theme like Zoologist, you can use the Cover block on individual posts and pages, and then add your content inside that:

  Unrelated, but in checking your site I noticed it looks like you’ve tried to create a front page by instead creating a custom front page template at https://conference885431408.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=gutenberg-edit-site&postType=page&postId=2

  The editor at Appearance ->Editor is for making changes to your site’s theme by customizing the templates used for different kinds of content.

  To create actual pages that will contain your site’s content, you want the editor at Pages ->Add New instead. In the post/page editor you can assign your page to a particular template that exists in the site editor.
