Background Image
-
I’ve been trying to add a background image to my WordPress site–(it’s a map. I’m trying to put the map as the background on my site), but I don’t see anything. I keep clicking on ‘select image’ and I put in the image–assumingly . . . but nothing shows up! What do I need to do?

Hi! I see the map but it’s not super visible because most of the foreground of your site is in front of it:

Have you considered using the map image as a header background instead? Something like this perhaps, but replacing the island with the map?

I have not considered that. I’m new to WordPress, anyway.
An older theme? It would not be intentional, as I am not exactly sure about anything “older” or “newer” when it comes to WordPress. -
I’d recommend that theme, then try the Patterns feature. You can edit the layout directly. I think you’ll like it:

Okay. So, am I able to use the Patterns feature right now? I’m still learning about WordPress themes and everything. I’m not exactly sure how it works.
Thank you!

Oh! My next main question–why can’t I see the background image? I don’t see the map anywhere. Why is that? Will it only show up once I post the site?

Hi there,
You are referring to the image I see to the left/right of your site content area (in the center) as shown here:
Your site does not have a transparent content area (it has a white background to assist with text legibility) but your background image should be visible on either side of that if you make your browser window as large as possible. Please note that the background my not show much (or at all) on tablets and smart phones due to size restrictions.

Ahhhh. So, it’s on there, I just can’t see it because I would need to enlarge the . . . I guess, the part where it says “Onto Leiso”? Is that what you’re saying?
Hmmm. So, it might be best to have the map as a background header, or whatever it’s called?
I appreciate the info!

Yes, it’s best to set it up as your header.

Hello there,
It looks like the pages are set to draft.
Can you see the header images when you visit the previews of the pages?
Many thanks.
