Background image Confit theme not showing in Safari and Firefox.
-
Why is the Confit theme background image not showing in Firefox and Safari? It works fine in Chrome, using my MacBook pro. I have cleared my cache, cookies, browsing history, everything. I am using the theme ona free blog from WordPress.com (a private blog that I use with my students) and cannot get into the source etc, like I can on my other blogs. Any suggestions? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We Volunteers cannot view private blogs so we cannot examine what you have done and assist you. Staff can view private blogs and that is why I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. OK, thanks! I am subscribed and hope that a staff member can help. I appreciate your quick response! Beste regards.

Yes a Staff member will be able to assist but it’s a weekend and they have a backlog. So you will have to wait patiently until they work their way forward to this thread.

That is OK, fortunately it does not affect the functionality! Thanks for letting me know.

Hello!
When I visited your background settings it appeared that the URL being requested for the background image was slightly off from where the image actually was. I imagine you were seeing a cached version of the site in Chrome and the up-to-date version in Firefox/Safari.
I removed, then re-added the background image to your site and saved the changes. I now see the background image in all three browsers correctly.
Please clear your cache and cookies, and revisit the page. Let me know if you still see errors with the background image. :)

Thank you! It’s working like a charm now. Any idea how to prevent this in the future? Like I said, this is the free blog so I cannot change the source, I believe.

This is honestly the first time I’ve seen an error with the custom background not loading a selected image. To prevent this in future, I believe the only thing to keep in mind is not to edit images that are currently selected as your background. But if you see another error with the background image, I’d recommend just re-selecting your background image, and save changes, as a first step.
Like I said, this is the free blog so I cannot change the source, I believe.
Even with our paid upgrades, you would not have access to the back-end files of your WordPress.com site. If you need access to those, you may preferred a self-hosted site running the free software from WordPress.org. Here’s some notes on the difference between the two:
