Background Image in 2014
-
I cannot get a background image to display in the Twenty Fourteen Theme. I have uploaded an image dozens of times. It says my background is updated and I can look and see it, but when I look and see it, it’s not there. Does this theme support background images, and if so, why might it not be working?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
After looking into your site, I see that you changed your theme to: Zoren, and that the background image was loading as seen here:
Please note for the Twenty Fourteen theme, the background is off to the right side as seen on my test account here:
If you make your display smaller and cut off that right side, you wouldn’t be able to see the background.
If you have any questions please let me know!

Hi thank you for your reply! If I understand correctly, I won’t see a background image in the 2014 Theme if I am using the right column? If that is correct, I understand in theory.
What I don’t understand is how to eliminate the right column/sidebar to reveal the background. I have gone back into the Twenty Fourteen Theme and moved all the widgets from the Right to the Left. Yet I still cannot see the background image! Can you explain how to re-size the content and/or eliminate the right column so the background appears?
When you visit my blog you might see it in the Zoren format. I am using that for now until I resolve this background issue. But I’d like to return to Twenty Fourteen as I have already paid for it and I want the Featured Posts option in my blog.
Thank you!

Hi there,
After looking into your blog I see that you are currently using the Twenty Fourteen theme. Please note that this theme is free and can be used at any time.
Also, while many of our themes are centered in the middle, the Twenty Fourteen theme is featured on the left hand side of the browser. So depending on how large your browser/display is will determine what part of the background you see. For example, when I extend my browser screen to the maximum your site looks like this:
As you can see, the background image of the sticks can be seen. When I make my browser smaller you can see that the right hand side disappears:
Please note that this is the way the theme was designed and cannot be changed. If you prefer the design of the Zoren- which is centered, I recommend sticking with that. If you like the Featured Posts option of the theme, I also recommend looking at Oxygen or here:

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
