Background image is too zoomed in

How do I zoom out a picture that I have set as a background picture on my page? I would provide a link to my site but it is not live yet. It is hosted on godaddy with a temporary ip/url address.

Here are the steps I used to add a background pic:
new page>page builder>add row>1 row>save. Select edit row>. Select design>background image>insert image. Select background image display>cover. Select Layout. Row Layout>full width. Save then update. I add widget to same row. Add Visual editor. Edit visual editor>add spacer and increase spacer size to 600px. Each page is sized to 600.

The image is zoomed into close. How do I zoom out the picture while keep the picture resolution crisp? What is the recommended file size, aspect ratio to each picture I add appears as a full image?

Unfortunately, this isn’t the right WordPress forum to help with that problem. You have a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software, but this forum is for blogs hosted here on WordPress.com. The two versions are different and have separate forums. Please post your question at the WordPress.org forum: https://wordpress.org/support/

If you don’t have a username at that forum, you’ll need to register before posting. For more information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
