Background images

  I have been trying to upload a new image to use as a background.
  Unfortunately, whatever combo I use of the options it gives me, (tile, vertically, fixed, scroll, no repeat, etc.) the background image comes out distorted, pixilated, way out of size etc.
  I was wondering if there is a way I can fix this?
  Is there something I’m not doing correctly?
  What I’m aiming for is a clear shot of the whole picture.
  (The theme I’m using is Piano Black)
