Background images are not showing on some pages

Hi,
Background images are not showing on some pages behind the titles, like here: https://galacticrhythm.com/consultation/
(you can only see black background behind)It seems like all works fine on regular posts but on other pages
there are some issues, even though the images are uploaded and
before were showing without any issues. Here is an example of regular blog post that shows image:

Hi,
It appears that each of your posts displayed on the front page has a featured image set, while the static pages do not have a featured images set on them, and there is no site header image set.
On the Pictorico theme, where featured images will be displayed is determined by the settings at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images. Place a check in the boxes corresponding to those locations where you’d like featured images to be displayed.
As long as a featured image is set on a post or a page, and the appropriate box is checked as described above, then a featured image will display on that post or page. If no featured image is set, then the site header image will display instead (if one is set). An exception to this would be if you checked the box labeled “Automatically use first image in post” at Customize > Content Options > Featured Images.
See also the specification in the Pictorico theme guide Quick Specs section that “Featured Images work best at a minimum of 1200 wide and 590 high [width in pixels].”

Dear Musicdoc1, thank you so much…
The display on pages option was unticked, for some reason that I don’t know as before I always had the pages with their own featured images.
Now all is working again, thanks!! -

That’s great! You’re welcome. : -)

Have you switched themes recently? If that’s not the case, then perhaps the option was unticked accidentally at some point.

I didn’t switch themes but been trying to use plugins while using the pictorico theme, but with the basic template isn’t very easy
thanks again! -
been trying to use plugins…but with the basic template isn’t very easy
Not only isn’t it easy, if you have the free plan, but I think you’ll find it impossible. Plugins can’t be added to a WordPress.com site unless you have the Business Plan upgrade. See the Plugins support page, and its Plugin Requests section.

I have the basic plan and wondering if moving to another host would be a better option, instead of upgrading…
-
Yes, perhaps that might be a nicer option for you. I’ll call for staff attention. Staff will be better equipped to advise you regarding a self-hosted site.

The WordPress.com and WordPress.org support page might be a good introductory comparative guide to the two “flavors” of WordPress.

Hi –
Thanks for the great advice shared here musicdoc1 :)
You will have more customization abilities with a self hosted WordPress site. But, with that comes more responsibilities on your end. Here at WordPress.com we manage the nitty-gritty-behind-the-scenes details that keep your site performing well. When you take the leap to self hosted, you then become responsible for those details.
WordPress.com also has a dedicated support staff. With self hosted WordPress you can use the community forums at wordpress.org/support/ and you might be lucky to get some help from your host. This is the other big difference to consider.
My last suggestion is to read the WordPress for Beginners links at https://codex.wordpress.org/Getting_Started_with_WordPress. This is going to help give you an idea of what goes in to having a self hosted site.
Using the WordPress.com Business plan is a bit of a middle ground. You’d still have access to our support and managed site environment. You would gain the ability to use a custom theme and plugins. The plan features are listed at wordpress.com/pricing/
Let me know what follow up questions you have and I’ll be happy to answer those too.
