background in colinear

Hi there,
How do I change background in colinear theme?
When I do it, I get strips on RHS and LHS but no change on most of screen.
I’ve tried it with color and with image and the same thing happens.
Can you help?

General theme customizations can be done by clicking on My Sites – Customizer Each theme has different customization options available. They aren’t all the same.
Can you share more with me about your set up and the steps you’re taking to make this edit on the site.

– how do things look in different browsers? same or different? -

I’m not sure how to answer all of your questions.
I’m in Google Chrome.
I go to Customize -> Colors and Backgrounds -> Pick a Palette – Publish

Hi there,
What you see is normal. The “background” of your site only refers to those two strips at the side, that is, the part of the screen that falls outside of the content area of the site.
The content area is the centre strip where your site header, menu, and the content of your posts and pages appear. Changing the background for the site does not change the background for the content area.
Some of the free colour palettes in this theme does change the content area background to the same colour as the site background, but not all of them do this.
The only way to specifically control the background colour of the content area is via the advanced customization options included in our premium and business plans.
