Backlog of Debian on GCP updates – best update practice?

    New to self hosting – when we moved our site to Debian hosted on GCP, we assumed that the hosting OS updates would be scheduled, like the options in WP. Consequently, checking today, we have 34 updates available. Is there a ‘best’ way to go about running all these updates?
