Backround color in a fixed width theme
-
I read that changing the background color in a fixed width blog was relatively simple, as modifying the color from white should not alter the content background color. however, when i modified it (to change it from white to black) everything turned black. I wish to change the background (only on the sides) outside of my content to black, to make the website easier on the eyes. any help would be appreciated. I’ve been messing with a few things and couldn’t get anything to work
im using the cutline theme

iankaravas,
Try this:
body {background: #000;} #container { background: #fff; overflow: hidden; } #content {padding-left: 10px;} #sidebar {margin-left: -10px;}Just in case, that’s the only code that should be in you CSS editor, unless of course if you add/change more selectors.

that worked brilliantly! thanks devblog. I didnt use #container thats prob why it messed me up.
