Hi @fusontim , it’ll depend on what word processors you intend to use, but you can export your site’s contents as an XML file. Here’s how.
You’ll want to see if your preferred processors know how to interpret those. You’ll also want to back up your media now and then, too, since XML won’t include a copy of your images.
Also, if your site is hosted here, note our systems takes the safekeeping of your data very seriously. The only way you’ll lose it is if your account isn’t secure, or if you delete your posts yourself. Here are some tips on how to protect your site and your data.

Hi there,
I’m afraid we can’t help directly because we don’t host thelogride.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.
Instead your host (Bluehost) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (sometimes called “WordPress.org”) which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.
The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/
The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help. Another option you may wish to try is one of the many “blog to book” companies out there, which will convert your online blog to a printed book for a fee. It is possible that they will be able to provide you with a properly formatted text file you can use instead.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
