Backup imported failed

    I’m trying to use my old backup, but I’m stuck with these message:

    “Import WordPress

    Processing…

    We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”

    What can I do?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I tried again, but i received an email:

    “We are sorry, but there was an error while performing your blog importo http://danganronpaitalia.wordpress.com/

    Please contac support, mention error code 406, and we’ll get everyting fixed.”

  • Hi there,

    The 406 error indicates that there is something in the XML file that is triggering a security issue (such as a script tag which cannot be used on WordPress.com). I am going to download and analyze the file to see what is causing the error and try to import your site from my end. I will keep you updated once I am done.

  • Hi there,

    I was able to import the XML file successfully over to your WordPress.com blog. The 406 error was being caused by one of your author’s e-mails – part of the e-mail included .exe which our system was reading as an executable file. I had to delete the e-mail, but you can add the author back in if they are still contributing to the blog.
