Backup Media Files

  Hello.

  I just like to ask how I can backup my media files from site hosted at wordpress.com. I have exported the .XML file for content and comments but I need the images too because I need to set the site up at new hosting company (so I can install plugins and do more customizations.).
  I have looked and read some articles and seen that WP does not allow FTP so that is why I am writing the forum.

  Please let me know how to do this.

  when you import to your new blog the media that is attached to a Post or Page will transfer if you choose the correct options. You old blog does need to be online for the transfer to occur.

  There is currently no way to download and backup the entire media library with one click, it has been requested several times however

  If you want to back up the entire library then it is done one painful file at a time – sorry no shortcut yet
