Backup not like blog anymore

As I am learning I am editing my blog, to the extend, that I now get messages telling me that the backup copy in my browser is not like the blog anymore. Ok, I know that. Then I get the question ” Restore backup ” ? What does that mean does it mean 1) the backup gets adjusted to the edited blog OR does it mean the edited blog gets set back to the original backup copy in browser – which – of course I don’t want. But I had been figuring out already how to get the better version now into my backup copy, so that would be good.

Also – how do I get the writing and pictures into the centre ? Everything seems to be squashed to the left. Looks stiff. Needs to be ligthened up a bit. But how ?

Thank you, if you have good advice here.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there – Typically that happens when you lose your internet connection while you’re working on a post. Additional text you add after your connection is lost is backed up in your browser, but not saved on WordPress.com. So when your connection comes back, if you restore the backup, it will restore all that text you entered after your connection was interrupted.

    Does that make sense?

Your text and images look centered to me. I note that you’re using Internet Explorer 8. If you are able to update to a more recent version of IE, or use Chrome or Firefox, that might fix a few small display issues for you.

Thank you so much, Eurello, do you know how I can also save this better blog version of the diary back into my document folder on PC ? So that it is saved in PC as it has been edited here ?
Would love to update many things like Adobe etc, but PC really old and ailing and slow worn out, need to get new one in new year. If I update stuff it crashes, so I cope with the least interruption for now.
Where I have two pictures I would like to put them together a bit more crookedly / elegantly slanting, not so stiffly under each other, is there a tab for that ?

  • Hi there – Do you mean just for a readable, offline backup? You could save each published post as a PDF – there’s typically an option for ‘save as PDF’ in your browser’s print menu.

Note that it isn’t necessary to back up your published blog purely for security reasons:

I’m not sure exactly what you have in mind, but you might experiment with justifying your images to the right or left:

And you might also experiment with gallery layouts:
