Backup Site
-
Hello
I would really appreciate some help/advice/feedback please.
Like a lot of people I have put a lot of effort into my blog (lots of time) I have a big media library and all my pages/ posts are designed in a certain way with polldaddy ratings and images and you tube videos.
Images are precisely sized and placed (ie) time consuming to create.I have all things saved on my computer for backup so I have the info if needed to rebuild my blog if it vanished but it will take a long time !!
I have saved the html too but appreciate the images will be lost.
I periodically save and export my blog and keep the backup on my computer and in online storage.
I know a lot of people say as this is hosted on wordpress.com it is very unlike it will disappear or be hacked etc.
Is there anything else I can do or you recommend to ensure all my hard work is safe.
Thanks a million
Bob

Hi there,
All support docs are at this link http://support.wordpress.com
This support doc explains the various ways to transfer your content to another blog or platform and explains how to backup your site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#backups -
(1) The Safe Bet – Use an Offline Blog Editor
http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/ as every post and page you create will produce a backup copy automatically on your own computer.
(2) If you provide full posts in the RSS feed subscribe to it.
(3) Periodically Export Backup Copies and Save them to Disc
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
(4) Back-up using using Feedburner and Gmail
