bad comments

  There is a person[s] that keep coming on my blog to post very mature content and also saying ‘great site!’ and then they put a link to some website that sounds really nastey.
  I have my comments set on ‘approve first’, however, I was wondering if there was any way I could ban people [from posting] that keep coming back and posting these things.

  “Great site” and links to mature (to put it kindly) sites are hallmarks of spam. Do not simply delete those. Mark them as spam first and then delete them from your spam queue. That will teach Akismet they are spam and ought to be caught.

  It might not happen immediately, but Akismet learns very quickly. Just be sure to mark them as spam. That’s key.

  Oh, it already goes to the spam(I should have added that). Thanks for your reply, though. :-)

  Do you know if you can ban specific people [or IP address] from submiting comments?

  If it’s going to spam, then you don’t need to do anything else; it’s all working exactly as it should.
