Bad Formatting on Latest Version of IPAD App

  WordPress has confirmed to me that photographs in reader are cropped vertically, and often stretches them horizontally. This was something I brought to their attention. They have told me that unless hey have no immediate intention to make changes. They suggest user input would help speed things up.

  Here is their message to me:

  Once I updated my iPad to the latest WordPress version 5.7, I was able to replicate what you see in your Reader now. Our latest Reader update crops the top and bottom of the featured image more, but I can see how that might create a problem with posts where it would crop the images awkwardly.

  We don’t have any immediate plans to change the featured image display size, but if we hear that this is an issue for a lot of our users then we’ll definitely take it into consideration in future updates. In the meantime, I’ve made a note of your feedback on our new Reader, and if you’d like to have more user input on the new format I highly recommend posting about it in our Ideas forum:
