Bad links turn to good links

  I’ve added so many plug ins that I can’t figure out which one is doing the following:

  If I type rightonblog.com/bob, an invalid link, it will find an actual link http://rightonblog.com/2004/03/21/bob-beats-back-the-star/

  I love this! Any idea what plugin is doing it or is it a function of wordpress?

  I doubt it is a plugin that is doing it, most likely part of the underlying code.

  wordpress.com just does that. I don’t know why, maybe staff can tell us? I knew you could strip away the year/month/date and still make it work. In this case it appears to be loking for any post that starts with “bob”. I tried http://rightonblog.com/star/ and it came up http://rightonblog.com/2004/08/20/star-burning/

  It’s a handy feature to be sure…I wonder if that’s why google toolmaster won’t validate my website…
