Badges from Blurb.com on Side Bar as an Image Link?
-
I’ve published a book through Blurb.com They give me a code for my blog. They do say “Note: The following code may not display properly on all blogging platforms.”
The code takes you to Blurb.com and offers a low resolution preview of the first 15 pages of my book.
I’d like to show it as a link. The code shows an image link.
Know how to do this?
Thanks,
– Bob

Paste the code into a reply. Put it between backticks (` — the key with the ~ on it, to the left of the one and above the tab key) so it’ll just display the code.
If it’s plain old html it will work in a post or the sidebar (within image size restrictions). If it has javascript/flash/iframe in it, it won’t work.

Thank you.
There’s no javascript. However there is a <div style=”clear: both; border: 0px solid black;”></div> No flash or frame.
I don’t understand putting it into a reply. It seems that only those who click on the reply will see it.
It looks pretty much like “plain old html”. Please give detailed instructions on how to put it in the sidebar. Image size is 118px width.
Thanks again,
– Bob

i think katm meant a reply here, not on your blog, so we could see what the code is. You should be able to put it in a text widget on your sidebar:

I’m sorry. Here’s the code:
<img src=”http://www.blurb.com//images/uploads/catalog/56/183856/97445-6a488e3d528f80ca5555112f8f7e49e4.jpg” alt=”The Art of Robert Tracy” style=”padding:0px; margin:0px; width:118px; vertical-align:middle; border:1px solid #a7a7a7;”/> </div> <div style=”position:absolute; top:140px; left:10px; overflow:hidden; margin:0px; padding:0px; border:0px; text-align:left;”> <div style=”width:105px; overflow:hidden; line-height:18px; margin:0px; padding:0px; border:0px;”> The Art of Rob… <img src=”http://www.blurb.com/images/badge/blurb-logo.png” style=”border:0; padding:0px; margin:0px;” alt=”Visit Blurb.com”/> Book Preview </div> <div style=”clear: both; border: 0px solid black;”></div></div>
I’ll study what you provide at the link and see if the answer is already answered.
Thank you,

Thanks all!
Got it to work. I must say (read my very first post on this matter) that WordPress is much harder to work with than Moveable Type was when I had it. But it’s just learning from people like you that’ll get me there.
Best wishes,
– Bob
