The sidebar widget is not available unless you create a custom page. Can we get the sidebar widget on the front page and still have the blog posts in a grid format? Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Please consult the set up instructions for the theme at https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2 The way the theme is designed to function is stated there. -
Widget Areas
Baskerville 2 offers four widget areas:The optional Sidebar, which appears on the right in single posts and pages using the default template.
Three optional Footer widget areas. If there are no widgets in the Sidebar area, the theme automatically adjusts to a single column.

No, there is no sidebar widget area on the blog page. As timethief pointed out, you can use footer widgets instead.

hello. i am using baskerville 2 and have 2 questions…
1. how can i include a map for each blog post? Not one map for where i am, but a different map for each post – as I’m travelling and want to show where I am.2. what is the purpose of the /blog page? can i delete that? as all my blog posts are listed by date order on the front page/archive it is confusing to have a blog page that is essentially empty.
the site i am referring to is:

Hello @fyahdancer,
1. To answer your maps question, WordPress.com offers support for embedding Google Maps, so you could embed one in each blog post if you’d like to. Here are instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/
2. It does appear that your most recent posts are showing up just fine on your homepage. You should be able to delete the empty /blog post without any trouble.
In general it’s best to start your own thread, that way folks who posted earlier are not pinged with multiple replies. So if you have future blog questions start a new forum thread, and we will help you out!
