ban an isp
-
I’m certain this has been asked many times – I’m copping a fair infestation of jokers that need to be denied for a while – rather than trash them one by one (they do multiple comments every day – it’s a game) how do I stop them at the door.
many thanks
pete

You don’t mean “ban an ISP”. AOL, for instance, is an ISP. You mean you want to ban certain people. Banning IP addresses is ineffective, since most IPs are dynamic and could be used by any number of people over a day or so. Put their usernames into the moderation or banning box under Settings->Discussion on your Dashboard.

You can also enter their email address.
It doesn’t “ban” them, but it will send them directly to the moderation queue if they try and comment. Do know though that they can always use another name or email address.

Peter, cheers to you too. Go to the page raincoaster mentions in your dashboard and just enter their email address and their username on separate lines in the “blacklist” box and save.
