Ban Users

    Is it possible for me to ban an IP? It would be really great if you could help me out on this.

    EDIT: Oh, I found another thread on it. I thought I looked hard enough. ;)

    I’d doubt it as it’s a cluster of servers serving lots of blogs. Most people have dynamic IP’s so banning one would do no good…..if I was banned on this IP I could log off, ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew to get a new one and bounce straight back on…..with the old IP still banned. Banning only works if it’s a static IP, which not many ISP’s provide unless specifically asked for. Usually reserved for server use, where the same IP is needed for people to find that PC.

    You can ban an IP address from commenting. That’s about it.

    Banning IP addresses really don’t work. I always use my example of the university library that I use. Move over a chair, get a different IP address. Change to a different table, whole another Class of addresses. Go upstairs, another class. Go up to 3rd floor gets me another class.
