Banana Smoothie Template – Some blogroll strikethrough

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have Banana Smoothie as my template but for some reason a few of the links in my blogroll are strikethroughed. It appears to be random. Deleting them and putting them back in does no good.

    Any ideas?

    I’m afraid I don’t see that at all. I’m using FF 3. Usually that sort of thing happens when there’s an unclosed tag somewhere, usually because someone pasted in from Word.

    Looks fine in firefox3 and opera. But in safari, there are no strikethroughs but your headings for your sidebar ends up underneath the content, so that “blogroll” is at the bottom of the blogroll.
    Don’t paste from word, try to remember what you did before this happened (added links, added post etc) and reverse.

    How to reproduce:

    1. Click on a sidebar link that doesn’t have a line through it
    2. Return to the page, the link will now be struck through

    Strikethroughs are just how this particular theme distinguishes visited sidebar links from unvisited ones.

    How to fix:

    1. Change themes
    2. If you have $15 going spare, buy the CSS upgrade and add this code:

    #menu a:visited {text-decoration: none;}

    The Safari issue is unrelated, it is just an old theme that obviously hasn’t been tested with that browser.

    Do NOT buy the CSS upgrade unless you’re fluent in CSS. We see so many people who mess up their blogs and there’s virtually no help at all available, either.
