Banging domain name

    Hi,
    My friend made me a basic website emmakateputnam.com . I want to start my own website under this name so I can edit it and expand it. He said he will transfer the domain name to me soon but I would like to get underway. Is it possible to start under another domain name eg Ekateputnam.com then when he gets around to transferring it to me, change to emmakateputnam.com?
    Will changing from one to another cost? Will I lose all my editing work?

    Hi there!

    Yes, you can do that, but every time you’ll need to map it again and you’ll be charged. You’ll not lose your content because it’ll remain in your site, update the domain doesn’t affect your site content.

    To avoid unwanted charges, I recommend to you create your new site with WordPress.com free domain and map to your domain when you get it.
